Fraudsters Used The Binance Logo For An Advertising Campaign In Turkey

The Turkish branch of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance warned local investors about the attempted fraud with the help of fake billboards containing the logo of Binance.

According to Similarweb, users from Turkey account for more than 7% of traffic to the desktop version of the Binance platform.

Thus, it is no coincidence that criminals decided to cash in on the popularity of Binance in the country, for which they rented numerous billboards.

A billboard with the banner “Binance Tourist exchange”, which has nothing to do with the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, founded by Changpen Zhao, is shown in the warning of Binance Turkey.

Most likely, the aim of the scam is to steal users’ cryptocurrencies by offering to open new accounts.

Anticipating the activity of the perpetrators, Binance set up its first 24-hour customer service center in Turkey on April 15. In case of the slightest suspicion, investors are advised to contact Binance’s official customer support service, including through the website and mobile app.
